DIRECTOR OF ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
Salary: $109,033.60 - $132,641.60 Annually

 Under general direction, plan, organize, manage, direct, and supervise the activities, programs, and services of the Environmental Health Division, including fiscal and personnel management, program planning and evaluation, public and political relations; represent department activities and programs with community organizations and other government agencies; and perform related work as required.

The Director of Environmental Health is the management classification responsible for planning and directing the Environmental Health programs and functions of the County.

Minimum Qualifications:
 
Experience:
At least five (5) years of experience in the development, analysis, and administration of environmental health programs and services. Two (2) years of the background and experience must have been in a management or full supervisory capacity. The experience will preferably have included work in the areas of fiscal management, personnel management, program development, and grant administration.

Education:
Equivalent to graduation from college with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health Sciences or closely related field. Completion of a Masters Degree in Public Health or closely related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience, excepting that it will not be substituted for requisite management or supervisory experience.

Licenses:
Possession of a valid Environmental Health Specialist Registration issued by the State Department of Public Health. Possess and maintain a valid California Driver's License.
