The salary range for this position is $61,000 - $77,000.

Summary of Duties:
This position is responsible for coordination of the monitoring, reporting and auditing of Amtrak's sanitary and public health compliance. Will coordinate corrective actions relating to food handling and preparation, car watering, pest control, and equipment maintenance and cleaning within their respective regions. This position is empowered to immediately halt food service car operations, remove cars from service and discontinue car watering until deficiencies are corrected. This position will assist the public health group in providing technical expertise to meet public health and sanitation regulatory requirements.

Education:
Must have a Bachelors degree in Environmental Health, Biological Science, Public Health or closely related field. Prefer advanced degree in Environmental Health, Biological Science, or closely related field.

Work Experience:
Must have demonstrated experience in Food Safety, Public Health or Environmental Field position. Licensed professional, Registered Sanitarian (RS) or Registered Environmental Health Specialist or Certified Food Safety Professional or similar. Prefer significant experience in Food Safety, Public Health, or Environmental field position.

Other Requirements:
Certified Backflow Prevention Device tester (FDA, TREEO, or similar); Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel; experience working with Amtrak PC programs, including SAP, WMS and ARROW.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
Must have excellent written, oral communication & interpersonal skills. Must be discreet and capable of keeping sensitive information confidential.

Travel:  50%
