Southwest Chapter President's Message Print

SURPRISE, surprise!  Finally, the Southwest chapter web pages are alive and ready to be filled with information about current issues affecting the environmental health profession.  This long over due communication tool will provide all members a vehicle to learn about and voice their views on issues and events important to all Southwest chapter members.

I want to personally thank Steve Durham, our new CEHA web committee chairman, for hitting the ground running and opening up this line of communication for Southwest chapter members. I also want to thank Julie DeGraw for accepting the position and responsibilities of the Southwest Chapter Web Master.

I invite all members of CEHA to submit information for posting on our web pages.  There are three (3) pages that are available to members; What's New, Chapter Events, and most important the Features and Editorials page.  The What's New page is intended to provide information about current issues that may impact our profession, association or chapter.  The Chapter Events will provide information about upcoming chapter events such as chapter meetings, training or social events.  The Features & Editorials page offers members a venue for sharing information on special projects they are involved in or expressing their opinion on issues affecting CEHA or related subjects.

In the next couple of weeks we will establish a procedure for submitting material to be posted on the chapter web pages, so look for that in the near future.

I hope that CEHA members get in the habit of checking the web site on a regulator basis.  Of course this will only happen if the site provides information that is current, useful and interesting.  To keep the site fresh and interesting we will need the active involvement of you, our members. You can do that by contributing material for the web pages and providing feedback on how it can be improved.

I intend to use the President’s Corner page each month to keep members informed of CEHA activities both state and local, so check the site each month.

Again, I encourage each of you to make our web site a success by contributing and providing feedback on how the site can better serve you our members.

Robert Venter, President
